Welcome Home Troops

Mission Statement

To bring the hearts and minds of our soldiers’ home through healing and play one soldier, one family, one community at a time.

The ‘Welcome Home Troops’ mission is to bring the hearts and minds of our soldiers’ home. It is our vision to do this in two parts:

1. Through play, ‘Welcome Home Troops’ introduce exciting and novel events into our soldiers lives as shared experiences with family and friends. With suicide and divorce being two of the biggest challenges facing our Service Members reintegration; the play that we provide is an integral part of returning the hearts and minds of our soldiers’ home. With events such as NHRA, NASCAR, professional sporting events and Academy of Country Music Awards; we are restoring to our Service Members their most highly emotional connections with their families in a community setting. Until our Service Members can enjoy the simple things of life it is almost impossible to heal from their traumatic experiences.

2. Through healing; once we have a hold of our soldiers’ hearts and they are present i.e. in the moment, we can bring them through their healing processes. The vision is to do this in the following ways. PTS recovery programs the VA Triage Program, and the Post 9-11 War Memorial.

PTS Recovery Program © is a process of integrated services including NLP with Emotional Release Therapy, Timeline Therapy, NeuroFeedback Therapy, with a proprietary study guide, consisting of group study and mentoring; as well as non-traditional health care which includes Chiropractic, Acupuncture, and Nutritional components.

VA TriageProgram © is a service that will help put our Veterans back to work while providing much needed support to our existing VA Programs. We will do this by redirecting our worthy warriors into community services using the existing job skills of our Veterans in a program that will provide assessments, placement and treatment. We will work in tandem with the VA and the EDD to find where the need is and how we can provide the best levels of support, through the coordinated efforts of community providers.

The Post 9-11 War Memorial©; a key component of healing for PTS is to be able to reconcile with loss. This Memorial allows family and friends of the fallen to Honor and pay their respect, in the most personal way. A key component of PTS is Moral Conflict; there is no greater level of moral conflict than the unresolved issues of lives lost in combat. The Memorial is a place to let the lost rest in peace and heal the hearts and minds of the living.

SunBuggy supports the National Ski Patrol

In March 1938, while officiating the National Downhill ski race at Mount Mansfield in Stowe,Vt., Roger F. Langley, then president of the National Ski Association, had an industry-changing idea. Langley was impressed by the “super patrol” for the race that Charles Minot “Minnie” Dole had created from members of the Mt. Mansfield, Pittsfield, and Burlington patrols. While watching the race at Shambles Corners on the Nosedive trail, Langley asked Dole if he would organize a national patrol like the one in use at the race. Not one to shy away from a challenge, and having lost a friend on the slopes two years earlier, “Minnie” accepted, and the National Ski Patrol was born.

Today, the nonprofit National Ski Patrol still adheres to the creed of “Service and Safety” established more than 70 years ago. As the industry has evolved, so too has the NSP. The emergence of new snow sports like snowboarding, tubing, and snow-skating has introduced new equipment and terrain, requiring new safety and rescue techniques and emergency care methods to be developed and taught. In addition, greater access to the backcountry has brought new training and regimens for NSP members.

As the leading authority of on-mountain safety, the NSP is dedicated to serving the public and outdoor recreation industry by providing education and accreditation to emergency care and safety service providers. The organization is made up of more than 28,000 members serving over 650 patrols, including alpine, Nordic, and auxiliary patrollers. Our members work on behalf of local ski and snowboard areas to improve the overall experience for outdoor recreationalists.

We at SunBuggy helped this cause by donating our one of a kind Buggy Adventures to their Silent Auction.

Red Rock Golf Classic

Operation Homefront, Inc (OH) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization formed in February 2002. It was developed to support the families of deployed service members immediately following 9/11. Operation Homefront is headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, and has evolved into a major nonprofit. The organization currently provides services to military families across the nation with 25 chapters. The majority of their clients are the lowest-paid service members, the E-1 through E-6 enlisted ranks. The target population is American military personnel and/or their families who have unmet needs due to financial hardship, death, injury, or physical or mental detriment as a result of service in Iraq or Afghanistan.

OH provides direct services to alleviate a military family’s or individual’s actual/complete emergency financial burden, as well as counseling and/or recovery support. Emergency financial assistance is in the form of checks paid directly to mortgage lenders, auto mechanics, contractors, hospitals, doctors, dentists and other providers.

95 cents of every dollar donated to OH directly supports those in need, a remarkably high percentage. OH has the highest rating – four stars – for seven straight years from Charity Navigator. Only two percent of the charities rated by Charity Navigator have received at least seven consecutive four-star evaluations.

Our beneficiary will be the Nevada chapter Operation Homefront Nevada (OHN) which was formed in 2007.
